Colorado has no permitless concealed carry. A concealed handgun permit is issued by the sheriff of the county where you live, here the El Paso County Sheriff, and applicants must be 21 and show handgun training. Open carry is legal in much of the state, but cities and counties may ban it, and Denver does. Local governments may also restrict carry in some public buildings, so check the ordinances where you go.
Colorado deer hunting is managed by Game Management Unit, with most rifle licenses drawn. The 2026 rifle seasons are October 14-18, October 24 to November 1, November 7-15 and November 18-22, with deer licenses mostly in the second, third and fourth seasons.
